It all started when...
In 2018, Matt Pehr launched The Floor 4U as a hands-on answer to what was missing in the local remodeling industry — craftsmanship, care, and consistency. With more than 20 years of experience through his earlier company, Pehrfection Home Improvement, Matt built The Floor 4U from a small Mokena showroom into a trusted destination for flooring and cabinetry throughout Will County and the South Suburbs.
Known for his personal touch and product expertise, Matt continues to lead his team with a “white glove” standard on every project. Whether it’s luxury vinyl plank, hardwood, or full kitchen remodeling, Matt believes in doing things right — the first time.
Everything changed when...
n early 2018, after nearly two decades installing floors and cabinets out of the back of my truck, I realized my clients deserved more than just a service call—they needed a place to experience every product before committing. One afternoon, I watched a young couple hesitate over samples in their own home, frustrated by how different each plank looked under their lighting. That moment hit home: people needed a dedicated showroom.
That spark inspired me to sign the lease on a small storefront in Mokena. I filled it with our top waterproof and pet-proof lines—COREtec, Shaw, DreamWeaver—and turned Pehrfection Home Improvement into The Floor 4 U, a true destination. Suddenly, referrals doubled overnight.
Opening those doors changed everything. What began as a simple display of samples became a community hub where homeowners ask questions, compare options, and leave confident in their choices—knowing there’s an expert behind every recommendation.
One of the turning points was
Matt kept hearing the same thing from homeowners across the south suburbs: We just want it done right, and we want to know what’s happening.
So he built a flooring company that runs the way customers wish every contractor would. Show up on time. Protect the home. Install with pride. Keep the job moving. And treat every room like it belongs to family, not a number on a schedule.
Little did I know...
In early 2018, after 18 years of remodeling homes under the Pehrfection banner, I realized my clients needed more than great craftsmanship—they needed a showroom where they could see and feel every option before the first plank was cut. So I signed the lease on a modest storefront off 80th Avenue in Mokena, filled it with the best waterproof and pet-proof floors I could source, and opened the doors as The Floor 4 U.
Then, things finally turned around...
The response was instant. Homeowners who had trusted me with their kitchens and basements were now sending friends and neighbors to “Matt’s new flooring place.” Within three years that tiny shop couldn’t hold the traffic, so we moved to our current 9,000-sq-ft showroom on Willow Lane—doubling our inventory, earning five straight “Best Flooring Store” awards, and proving that a white-glove, expert-led experience still matters.
