Dogs, cats, turtles, pigs: The Floor 4U has installed floors around all of them. In this short video, The Floor 4U explains why luxury vinyl plank, or LVP, is the flooring we recommend most often for Mokena families with pets, and what makes it hold up when a puppy has an accident or a dog gets the zoomies.
The short version: LVP is 100 percent waterproof, it resists the scratching that dog nails cause, and it is softer and quieter underfoot than tile or laminate. No click, click, click down the hallway.
What the video covers

What is the best flooring for homes with pets? Whether that is dogs, cats, turtles or pigs, we have seen it all at The Floor 4U.
We recommend luxury vinyl plank, or LVP as you may have heard it called. These floors are 100 percent waterproof to start with. What that means is, you have a pet, the pet has an accident, you are gone for 12 hours, you cannot make it home, it is a puppy, it is an older dog, it does not matter. It happens to everybody, and anybody who says it does not is lying.
So the animal has an accident, you very simply clean it up. That is it. There is nothing else. It throws up because it ate something, you clean it up. You mop it, vacuum it, wipe it down, and you are right back to brand new.
Another amazing benefit to this floor is, if you have dogs that like to run at the door when the doorbell rings, or run around in circles because they got the zoomies, do not worry about it. Your floor is going to be fine. It is not going to be all scratched up. Your dog can run around in circles for 4 hours straight and it will not make any difference. It is just an amazing floor that holds up really well to animals.
And then as far as the homeowners go, or even the animals I suppose, it is a lot softer and a lot quieter to walk on. There is no click, click, click of the dog’s nails. It is just a much better option than some of the other flooring out there.
So if you are interested in seeing any of these type of floors, you can visit us at our showroom in Mokena. We hope this was helpful.
