Kitchen Makeover Without Replacing Cabinets: Before and After in Matteson
Video by The Floor 4U. Can you give a kitchen a new look without replacing the cabinets? This Matteson, Illinois project shows what new granite countertops and a subway tile backsplash did for a kitchen that kept its existing wood cabinets.
The clip opens on the before: white tile countertops with a single row of tile along the wall and bare painted wall above it. Then it cuts to the after, with granite countertops and subway tile running from the countertop up to the upper cabinets. The cabinets are the same in both shots.

The video description makes the point plainly: new countertops and a new backsplash can change how a kitchen looks without a complete remodel, when the cabinets are still in good condition. A 20-second clip cannot show how the cabinets were checked, how the counters were measured, or how the old tops came off, so the linked guide covers how to tell whether your own cabinets are worth keeping.
The Floor 4U is owned by Matt Pehr and installs countertops, backsplash tile, cabinets and flooring from its Mokena, IL showroom across Will County and nearby suburbs such as Matteson.
